Another Gorgeous Day In Vermont

Are you sick of my posts about kayaking yet?  Well, I can't help myself!  Who knew how much fun it would be?

I never liked canoeing with all that effort, uncomfortable seats, backaches, etc. - ugh.  And if you know me you know how much I hate to roast in the sun...  So kayaking seems to be the answer.  Moderate exercise, I can go alone at MY time of day (the coolest and shadiest possible) and, now that autumn seems to be here, whoo-hoo!

So I was thrilled when my (young) old friend Lisa said she'd join me on the Waterbury Reservoir Saturday.  I'd never been there and the views were just spectacular.  We had a blast paddling and chatting, taking pictures and catching up with each other's lives.  Yes, we invited Ed, but he had a project going and didn't want to stop.

Lisa is a wonderful photographer - we worked together years ago and, who knows?  Maybe we'll find another project together one day.

Since we're so civilized, we went out to eat after our time on the lake.  The food and service were great at The Reservoir in Waterbury.  Margaritas, nachos and sweet potato fries - perfect!

Now That's Dedication!

We recently went to Glen Lake to photograph our friends Donna and Brad with daughter Caitlyn and two pups Lola and Lexie for their holiday card.

Donna found a great spot and wanted to show them all with their canoe, since they've spent a lot of time on Vermont and New York lakes this year.  Donna, Cait and I walked to the spot with the pups and Ed and Brad brought the canoe over.  Ed and I decided to have our holiday photo taken, too, along with Arlo and Rufus.  So, here are the very flattering photos of me and Donna in full photography mode!

The holiday pix are top secret for now, but, let me say they look great!

Off to School!

Well, it's been a week and Anthony is still happily hopping on the school bus to head to kindergarten in the morning.  He's a planner and likes to "lay out" his school wardrobe before going to bed.  I was impressed!

This morning I walked down to the corner with him, Lucy and Mommy.  It seems like such a big step!

Bike Weather!

Finally!  A hint of autumn and cooler temps sent us out this morning on the gorgeous Burlington Bike Path.  It's the jewel of the Queen City, if you ask me.

We're both working on Labor Day, but before all that we went out on the bikes (old people bikes, our kids call them) for a beautiful ride past the boat house, a regatta, North Beach, Appletree Point, etc.  Burlington's bike path is a great mix of scenic lake views and shady trail.  Another great reason to live in Vermont!
